Mentor If a coin lands heads 9 times out of 10, you’d doubt it’s fair: a fair coin does that only about once in 100 tries. A p-value of 0.03 means results like yours would turn up about 3 times in 100 by chance. It says nothing about how big the effect is.

Mentor Yes. A scale that always reads 2 kg too heavy is reliable, because it’s consistent, but not valid, because it’s wrong.
